Course Description
Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is an American Heart Association curriculum, video-based, local instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. Skills covered in this course include first aid; choking relief in adults, children, and infants; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants. There is a maximum of eight students per instructor to provide personalized oversight and training.
PLEASE NOTE: This class does not qualify for State of California Child Care Provider Pediatric First Aid or Pediatric CPR training.
Cost
Our goal is to teach CPR to as many members of our community as possible. To make this training more accessible to the public we are underwriting the cost of our instructors, and only charging what is costs us for required materials and books, and fees we pay to process your certification through American Heart Association. This course typically costs $85 per person at other training sites, however the cost for our CPR training is only $35. We want people to learn CPR and are thrilled to be able to offer CPR training at such a discount!
K-12 school staff are eligible for a $10 discount from the AHA. Select "Patterson K12" Discount at checkout. You will be required to present a school district ID card when you arrive at class.
Times
Each class starts at 8:00 AM, includes a one-hour lunch break starting at 12:00, and then typically ends around 4:00 PM. You may bring your lunch to eat in the classroom, or you have the option to opt-out of the first aid portion in the afternoon and only become certified in CPR and AED, however we strongly recommend that you participate in the first aid training. The cost is the same with or without the first aid portion.
Location
The location is the classroom at Patterson Fire Department Station #2 at 1950 Keystone Pacific Parkway. The classroom entrance and parking lot are on the west side of the building facing Park Center Drive.
