July 2026 – CEO’s Message: Step Forward to Serve
Public service begins with people willing to step forward. This November, all five seats on the Del Puerto Health Care District Board of Directors, representing Zones 1 through 5, are open for election. The candidate filing period is underway and continues through August 7, 2026. If an incumbent does not file, the deadline for that seat may be extended through August 12.
Board members help guide healthcare services, ambulance operations, community partnerships, and development of our healthcare campus. I encourage residents who care about the west side of Stanislaus County and are prepared to study issues, listen, and make decisions to consider serving.

AB 2282 Update: Bill to Create Opportunity for Local Emergency Services in Patterson Clears Senate Health Committee
AB 2282, authored by Assemblymember Juan Alanis, passed the Senate Health Committee on July 1 by a vote of 6-1 — another significant hurdle cleared on the bill's path to becoming law.
The bill now heads to the Senate Appropriations Committee for review before it can move to a full Senate floor vote.
AB 2282 authorizes a Regional Emergency Stabilization and Care Unit (RESCU) — a 24/7 emergency stabilization facility staffed and operated by an existing licensed hospital — to serve Patterson while our permanent healthcare campus is being built. AB 2282 is a bridge, ensuring that Patterson residents have high-quality emergency care close to home while we work to bring additional healthcare services to our community.
What's Next: AB 2282 now moves to the Senate Appropriations Committee, where fiscal bills are reviewed before advancing to the Senate floor. We'll share updates as the bill progresses toward a full Senate vote.
